Philosophy of Language
The project in Philosophy of Language will focus on the problem of predication, on contextualism and minimalism in semantics and on whether the concept of truth requires a relativistic treatment.

Francesca Boccuni (San Raffaele, Milano) and Andrea Sereni (IUSS, Pavia) will give two talks on Frege's philosophy of mathematics.

Planning session for the Cogito acttivities during the second academic semester 2015-2016:
1. next pluralism seminars (possible integrations with the units involved in the pluralism PRIN 2015 project proposal);
2. next epistemology seminars;
3. work in progress seminars;
4. invited speakers proposals;
5. Cogito day (especially for PhDs and post-docs);
6. possible proposal for a next workshop (pehaps co-organized with different units);
7. other proposals/ideas.

The workshop will include two sessions for submitted papers by postgraduate students and early career philosophers (no more than 3 years from PhD).
Selection will be based on double blind review of long abstracts (max. 1000 words). Please submit your abstract, anonymised, by the 10th of September to:
Abstracts should be suitable for a 35-45 minutes presentation.

Sebastiano Moruzzi will discuss Pedersen's paper on the connections between three types of pluralism (alethic, logical andf ontological)
Matteo Plebani will lead a session on ontological pluralism.
The primary reference text is Turner (2010), but keep on eye also on MacDaniel (2009). Spencer (2012) is a good survey on the topic.
