Luck and Epistemic Value'
The University of Southampton's annual one-day Graduate Conference in
Philosophy will this year focus on scepticism. This includes scepticism as
it appears in epistemology, philosophy of mind, ethics, philosophy of
language and other areas. Contributions concerning contemporary continental
or analytic philosophy are equally welcome, as are those addressing topics
from the history of philosophy. Papers are invited from graduate students
and we are hoping to attract a wide external audience.
Deadline for submission of papers: Monday 4th May 2009
Papers should be not more than 3,000 words in length, suitable for a 20
minute presentation followed by discussion. Please submit papers to Dr.
Denis McManus at the address below, or preferably by e-mail to
D.Mcmanus@soton.ac.uk. Papers should be accompanied by a covering letter or
e-mail, but should not contain any self-identifying references in the text

The Research Group “Disagreement in Philosophy”, with the support of the DFG Grant (BR 1978/3–1) is very pleased to announce the first workshop of the “Disagreement in Philosophy” project.
The workshop will take place in the splendid Poppelsdorf Schloss (University of Bonn), on the 28th and 29th of October 2016.

The Latin Meeting in Analytic Philosophy is a biennial meeting that takes place under the auspices of the European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP) the Italian Society for Analytic Philosophy (SIFA), the Spanish Society for Analytic Philosophy (SEFA), the Portuguese Society for Analytic Philosophy (SPFA) and the Francophone Society for Analytic Philosophy (SoPhA).

David J. Chalmers is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Center for Consciousness at ANU and Professor of Philosophy and Co-Director of the Center for Mind, Brain and Consciousness at NYU. He will be presenting material in a series of lectures, developing and extending themes from his recent book "Constructing the World" (OUP 2012).

Call for Abstracts
This call for abstracts is directed at all graduate students and
researchers who have obtained their PhDs in philosophy within the last 2
years. All submitted abstracts must be in English or Portuguese, in the
analytic tradition (broadly construed), with no further restrictions as
regards topics or areas. Final papers will have a short presentation at the
workshop (25 minutes), followed by a commentary (10 minutes) and an open
discussion (40 minutes).
The University of Aberdeen is delighted to announce a cluster of PhD scholarships to be awarded for studies undertaken at the Northern Institute of Philosophy. The awards are for uptake in 2013 and 2014 as part of the project Interdisciplinary Studies in Epistemology.
